Sundays are for resets, weekend debriefs, catching up on work, and football. There’s nothing better than a fall afternoon spent watching the games, hanging with your best friends, eating good food, and catching up on the latest in the game. Even if you’re not the biggest fan of football, hosting a watch party is part of the college experience. Here’s a playbook to pull off the best watch party on campus.

Game Plan

Think tailgate vibes but cozy. A central tv is a must as well as seating for your guests. Grab some extra blankets and chairs ahead of time so everyone can kick back and relax.

Keep it simple! Have a designated place to sit and watch the game, a spot for the food and beverages, and any other activities can take place outside or in a separate room.

Even if you don’t have a ton of space, there's nothing like cramming onto a couch with your college besties. I have found that moments like that have become some of my favorite college memories!

Ready… Set… Feast!

The key to hosting any event is the food. You can order a pizza, have everyone contribute to a potluck, or put snacks together yourself – the more food the better. Chips and dip are always a necessity, but here are a few other ways you can step up your game.

A snack stadium is the perfect way to take your hosting skills to the next level and show your love for the game. There are so many different ways you can make it your own too. You could fill it with chicken nuggets, sliders, popcorn, the possibilities are endless!

The football charcuterie board is definitely a way to make an impression on your guests and exercise some creativity. Not only is it the perfect combination of sweet and savory, but totally on theme.

Activities for the Group

Lawn games: All college kids really need is a pong table and some solo cups. Even if you and your friends don’t feel like drinking, pong is always a fun game to play. Cornhole and spike ball are also fun games to have around!

Mini fantasy draft: Before each game, have everyone draft players from both teams and then keep track of points for prizes or bragging rights.

The season is around the corner, so grab your jersey, text the group chat, and make Sunday football the best part of your week!
