Freaky Friday: Welcome to the Maher-Kelce Multiverse

In honor of Freaky Friday 2, we couldn’t help but imagine what would happen if some of our favorite athletes swapped bodies for a day. Call it chaotic, call it cinematic, either way, welcome to the Maher-Kelce Multiverse. One’s a rugby icon with a TikTok addiction, the other’s a Super Bowl-winning tight end dating America’s biggest pop star. What happens when they wake up in each other’s cleats? Let’s just say… things get freaky fast.

Ilona (in Travis Kelce’s body) is absolutely thriving

Ilona wakes up, realizes she’s in Travis Kelce’s mansion, and immediately says out loud: “Wait. Am I in the NFL? And do I smell Taylor Swift’s perfume?” After the realization that she is now a Super Bowl Champion, she spends the morning:

  • Posting TikToks shirtless in a fur coat

  • Eating breakfast with Jason Kelce and calling him “brother husband”

  • Texting Rob Gronkowski, “You up?” from Travis’ phone

At Chiefs practice, she insists on running every play. Accidentally truck-sticks Patrick Mahomes into a Gatorade cooler. Nobody complains because she nails a post route and then flexes so hard the social media team makes it a hype video.

Meanwhile, Travis (in Ilona’s body) is deeply confused, but weirdly good at rugby

Travis wakes up in Ilona’s room surrounded by USA Rugby gear, electrolyte packets, and an extremely high number of crop tops. He tries to do his usual skincare routine but keeps getting distracted by how absurdly ripped he is.

At USA Rugby training camp, he:

  • Gets tackled by a 4’11” woman named Olivia and says “respectfully… ow.”

  • Confesses he thought rugby had timeouts

  • Crushes a fitness test and yells, “I was built for this! I am the scrum!”

Later, he accidentally goes viral for doing a TikTok thirst trap in Ilona’s body, set to “Karma,” obviously.

Text Exchange (according to anonymous sources)

Ilona (as Travis):

"How do I not get flagged for taunting every game? This is hard."

Travis (as Ilona):

"How do you tackle people without pads? I think my… your… our? Collarbone is dislocated."

Ilona (as Travis):

"Also, your beard itches."

The Existential Crisis Moment

Travis, mid-rugby scrum, has an epiphany:

“Women’s sports are violent. And incredible. And terrifying.”

Ilona, mid-Chiefs press conference, delivers a speech on emotional resilience and gender equity that makes headlines.

She ends it with: “Also, I benched a lineman today. Just wanted that on the record.”

The Switch Back

It happens just as suddenly. One minute Ilona is doing wind sprints in Travis’s cleats, the next she’s back in her own bruised, but glorious body.

Travis is relieved.

“No offense, but I missed having a beard.” Ilona replies, “No offense, but I was better at football than you were at rugby.”

Moral of the Story?

Never underestimate a rugby girl with a ring light. Or an NFL tight end with access to lip gloss.
