Our Ideal Roster: Athletes We Want to See on Dancing With The Stars Season 34

From Olympians to Super Bowl champions, athletes have consistently made their mark in the ballroom throughout the 33 seasons of Dancing With The Stars. Their agility, strength, and determination, which contribute to their success in sports, translate into jaw-dropping lifts, exciting tricks, and impressive footwork on stage. While dance may not be their first sport, it's entertaining to see these athletes shine in a new light. Season 34 is just a few months away, and although the full cast has yet to be announced, here’s a lineup of athletes we would love to see take the dance floor for a chance to win the Mirrorball trophy.

Jason Kelce

Since his retirement, Jason has been on multiple sidequests, and Dancing With The Stars is one he should add to the list. The ex-center for the Philadelphia Eagles and father of four would totally be a fan favorite because what’s not to love about him? And have you seen him hyping up the crowd with his viral dance moves? He could definitely pull off Alfonso’s famous dance move, the Carlton!

Jordan Chiles

Gymnasts have thrived on this show, taking dance to new heights with their incredible athleticism and artistry. The Olympic gymnast-to-dancer pipeline is real. Could Jordan be the next Olympic gymnast to be added to the roster? Jordan is a fierce athlete who would dominate in every genre thrown her way. She has expressed her interest in the past, and we would love to see her join teammates Suni Lee, Simone Biles, and Laurie Hernandez as another competitor on the show.

A lot of people say I have really good dance moves. I mean I like dancing, I like being involved in that area. If I told myself I wasn’t an athlete, I would definitely be in the dance music area of things, but honestly, if they came knocking at my door, I think it’d be really cool.

Braxton Berrios

Alix Earle has already been announced as a cast member for the upcoming season, and some friendly couple’s competition would be so much fun to watch! It’s a shame football season is happening at the same time. We would love the opportunity to watch these two face off during an “instant dance challenge.”

Tara Davis

Tara’s coming off of an impressive run at the 2024 Summer Olympics, and we think she needs a chance to add some new hardware to her collection – a.k.a, the Mirrorball. With her infectious energy, our long jump queen would steal the show and maybe even rock her signature cowgirl hat and boots for a country-themed freestyle.

Serena Williams

Halftime show. Need we say more? That isn’t the only time audiences have seen Serena showcase her dancing abilities. She’s also appeared in Beyonce’s music video for “Sorry.” Serena is a tennis icon with impressive moves on and off the court, and we think she would serve on the dance floor!

Alex Morgan

It’s been a hot minute since a professional soccer player has joined the cast of Dancing With The Stars, and if they're thinking about bringing one on this season, it should be Alex. Alex may have retired from her outstanding career this past September, but with her large fanbase, there’s no doubt she would have people texting “ALEX” to 21523.

Shohei Ohtani

David Ross was a beloved contestant on Season 24 and the only professional baseball player to have been on the show. We need some more athletes from “America’s favorite pastime,” and Shohei Ohtani should be a contender.

He’s a little kid in a grown man’s body. He doesn’t like to take things too seriously, he likes to have fun. He’s always smiling, always trying to joke around.

That is the kind of energy we want to see on the dance floor! Imagine a dance to his current walk-up song, “The Show Goes On,” that would be iconic.

From Ball to Ballroom: Jared McCain and Caitlin Clark

Jared rose to TikTok stardom during his time at Duke, but could his moves hold up on the dance floor? He possesses the charisma and “it factor” that would make him a fun person to watch. Male basketball players are usual contestants on the show, but we would love to see more WNBA representation. Who better than the face of the WNBA, Caitlin Clark? She would draw so much attention to the show, just like she historically boosted ratings for women’s basketball. It’s been rumored that producers want Caitlin on the show, and so do we.
