Let’s just say it: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is HIM. Fresh off being crowned the 2025 NBA MVP, Shai isn't just in the spotlight—he is the spotlight. From clutch moments to cool composure, he's redefining greatness on and off the court. The Oklahoma City Thunder’s dynamic guard had an epic season, averaging 32.7 points per game and leading his team to the best record in the league. Still, we are equally as obsessed with the person behind the player.

Small Town, Big Dreams

Born in Toronto, Canada, the small-town kid had a dream from a very early age. His mother represented Canada in the 1992 Summer Olympics in track, setting the path for his athletic career. After transferring to Chattanooga, TN, for high school, his competition became more serious for college looks. He later committed to the University of Kentucky, where he shined under Coach Calipari and began to foreshadow the superstar he’d one day become. On draft night, going from Charlotte to the Clippers quicker than he can run across the court and ending up at OKC, Shai’s career has slayed. Now? He’s not just part of the Thunder’s future. He is the future and the present,  leading a young OKC squad that’s not only fun to watch but scary good.

The MVP Speech That Melted Our Hearts

When Shai took the stage to accept his MVP, the emotion in the room was LOUD! After thanking God and his family first and crediting his roots and the people who got him where he is today, he continued to melt our hearts.

Thank you for everything you are” he said with tears filling his eyes, “you were the first person to show me what love really meant.

Cue: everyone sobbing, even the camera guy.

More Than Just Numbers

Yes, SGA averaged 32.7 points, 6.4 assists, and five rebounds this season. But what made him MVP wasn’t just the stats; it was how he did it. Smooth, stylish, and surgical. Shai made it look easy, whether it was clutch buckets or clutch fits. And best of all? He’s showing that loyalty, leadership, and love, both on and off the court, wins.
