London Marathon 2025: What We’re Wearing, Watching & Wowed By

Everyone is asking: What are we wearing, watching, and wowing over this London Marathon? Don’t worry Sportsish has got you covered. With 26.2 gruesomely stupefying miles run on the streets of London, there’s a lot to prepare for no matter what role you're playing this year. And whether you're lacing up or pulling up a café chair to cheer with a matcha latte in hand, here’s the www on the 2025 London Marathon.

Wearing

If you’re like us, any excuse to get a new outfit is always justified. But, in this case, it is not a want but a need. Running a marathon = a test of endurance and your outfit’s sweat-wicking abilities, and cheering = a marathon of its own. You need layers, snacks, and undeniable main character energy.

For the Runners: The fits that are going the distance

Nike Aeroswift Shorts and Singlet — Light, fast, and the spiritual twin of what the elites wear.

On Cloudboom Echo 3 Shoes — If we’re suffering, at least our shoes will be serving tech-core realness.

Goodr Sunglasses — Fun, functional, and they give off that "I'm competitive but chill" vibe.

Lululemon Fast and Free Running Belt — To stash your gels, AirPods, and dreams.

For the Motivators: Cheering is a part of this sport

Parachute Shorts + Retro Track Jacket — Casual, comfy, and ready to bust a move when your favorite runner zooms by.

Hoka Clifton 9 Sneakers — Because you're going to walk 10 miles trying to find the best cheering spots.

Oversized Sporty Graphic Tee — Bonus points if it's slightly ironic and slightly inspirational.

Clear Belt Bag — Essential for phones, portable chargers, tiny flags, and emergency lip balm.

Watching

1. Sifan Hassan – The queen of chaos herself. After winning last year’s marathon despite stopping for water breaks like it was a Sunday jog, she's back and always unpredictable (and iconic).

2. Tamirat Tola – The 2023 NYC Marathon champ is fast, tactical, and could totally steal the show if the weather plays nice.

3. Emile Cairess – Britain's big hope for a homegrown hero moment. Expect tears, flags, and a BBC montage set to Coldplay if he pulls off a top finish.

4. Eilish McColgan – After missing last year's race with an injury, she's ready to show up and show OUT. Major girlboss comeback energy.

5. Celebrity Watch: Tom Grennan – Yes, the singer-songwriter is running. Yes, there will be selfies. Yes, we will be seated.

Wowing

British commentary is always going to wow us. Not only does the accent add a flair of that sweet, sweet sass we love, but nobody roasts athletes with love and deadpan like British announcers.

"Well, he's absolutely shattered, isn't he? Bless him."

Five minutes in, you’re questioning every life choice, laughing and crying simultaneously. Another wow: The London Marathon is one of the "World Marathon Majors". Think: the Ivy League of marathons, joining Boston, New York, Berlin, Tokyo, and Chicago. It’s raised over £1 billion for charity.

Whether you’re racing toward the finish line or screaming from the sidelines, the London Marathon is all about electric energy, community spirit, and embracing the chaos. This year, let’s be inspired by the runners, and maybe a little by their drip too. See you at Mile 24 with our iced coffee and our besties.
